Angry Birds will dominate on Facebook

Angry Birds will dominate on Facebook

So word has it that just like Cityville, Farmville, Mafia Wars etc. Angry Birds will be making it’s way onto Facebook as a game app that you can install. I’m unsure whether it’s intending on generating revenue by advertising or by subscriptions, or how exactly the game will work with a keyboard and a mouse, but regardless, I’m certain this game will be a huge success.

Angry Birds is a phenomenon. I enjoyed it for a while, but the fact that you can’t perfect how you play on it got to me a little. Your aim can never be duplicated to 100% certainty… Never the less, Angry Birds on Facebook will be a force to be reckoned with as the world’s most popular game debuts on the world’s most popular website.

Angry Birds should be available on Facebook in April.

Starbucks being sued over not warning customers over a tip jar?

Ed Lover’s voice is kicking in while I type this saying in response to the headline, “Com’mon son!”

In 2008 Roger Kreutz chased down a tip jar thief from a St. Louis Starbucks in St. Louis’ suburbs. When he caught the teenager that stole the jar and struggled him to the ground, the 54 year old ended up hitting his head. He died from that injury two days later.

His father, claiming that there was no attached warning to the tip jar is suing Starbucks on behalf of his son’s estate using the argument that the tip jar “invited the act of perpetration of said crime.” Come on, someone stole it, his son was courageous enough to defend minimum wage worker’s tips and he needs to cash in and sue? Nah. Ridiculous. Starbucks isn’t at fault, the only one that is, is the thief.

Jennifer Aniston Sex Tape – that’s what the Smartwater campaign labels this as and thus so do we.

The “viral” video as it’s starring Ms. Aniston, it’s bound to be, is mildly amusing. Check it out.

Apple iPad 2 in Canada news?

This morning Apple are unveiling the iPad 2, and of course, Canadians once again wonder whether we will or will not have to wait for it to reach Canada. For some unknown reason Apple always seems to have us wait a month or more (the iPhone took a year) to come out in the Canadian markets and why is this?

The iPad in Canada managed to gain huge sales numbers, with thousands upon thousands sold. The device has become a tool people are excited to play with (and, work with?) but more than that, it has revolutionized the fact that you now can do anything – anywhere. Yes, the laptop too showcased that, but there were always battery limitations. Will the new iPad have a better battery?

Of course, before the iPad 2 is out, rumours are circulating about the iPad 3 and what it will have. Well for now, here’s a breakdown of the iPad 2′s features:

- The long awaited cameras! Both front and rear cameras will be present, as well as a gyroscope.

- FaceTime of course, there’s now a camera so why not FaceTime

- Slimmer and lighter, the new iPad is slimmer and lighter than the original
The iPad 2 is actually thinner than the iPhone 4. It’s 33% thinner than the iPad

The iPad 2 is faster, with graphics 9x faster and the new A5 chip

The white iPad 2 will exist and will ship from the start!

March 11th in the US, March 25th in many countries including Canada!

You can charge and do HDMI out simultaneously

Supports rotation, no setup or configuration required.

Everything you see on the iPad will be output to the tv, at up to 1080. Works with ALL apps.

HDMI Mirrored Video Output

We’ve got some really cool accessories. The first: HDMI video out, via dock accessory cable

Walk into any Best Buy or Futureshop nowadays and you’ll see the Samsung Galaxy tablet, Windows and HP tablets and Nokia tablets – but are any of them worthwhile? Yup. But the iPad still dominates. Apple have the market locked for the foreseeable future.

Columbian player boots owl off a football pitch

NO MAS MALTRATO ANIMAL! Judicialización a este Abusivo personaje!

The original text is above in Spanish, and it calls for serious prosecution of the animal abuse of the owl.

But lets be reasonable, a football player that’s overly energized, adrenaline running through his body and gets slowed down by an owl on the grass? Get that bird off the pitch! I’d imagine he thought, so he gave it a little kick. He may have thought more wisely though (like owls, his nemesis’) that he was being filmed at the time of doing so.

The Wallmart of Weed

The Walmart of Weed

WeGro – a hydroponics equipment store is the company that’s trying to present themselves as a Walmart for growing weed for “medical” use. They sell lights, plant fertilizers and the like, essentially boasting that they can help grow medical marijuana. The company is beginning in Sacramento, California, but intends to grow it’s business throughout the country as “medical” marijuana increases in it’s legalization.

Facebook is the Internet. Maybe. Facebook will become the Internet

Statement “Facebook will be The Most Valuable Company in the World in 2013″

I came across the video above by accident.

The speech was done by Scott Galloway at L2 for The George Washington University School of Business Washington, D.C. on February 12th, 2011

In the above video Scott Galloway talks about the fact that Facebook’s growth (currently it has an estimated 600 million members) and the time spent by it’s members on the site is larger than any other site online. People surf, waste their time and look at website content through Facebook. They “like” and share their social media through it, and tend to have their twitter accounts very closely linked.

So, by L2′s educated estimations, they could be worth leagues more than the $50 billion that Goldman Sachs has them valued at currently. Mark, can I borrow a dollar?

Another great boxing video game trailer? Fight Night Champion

It’s amazing when I think back on how long I’ve been into video games, as a young boy through a teenager to a 20-something now and each year I get more impressed by the graphics, gameplay and cinema like presentation.

EA Sports solidified their name many years back and keep increasing the respect that the gaming world can issue. With Fight Night Champion, they continue their boxing legacy and up the stakes a little, adding a themed twist.

The trailer beneath showcases a Mike Tyson interview used in conjunction with the game to promote it. Definitely worth taking a look at.

Returning calls and communication in the 21st century

It’s astounding to find that people still feel it’s okay not to get back to people the same day, if not immediately when contacted. Especially in the western world where we’re almost all connected at the hip by an electronic device; be it a computer or smart phone.

Sending a text and getting a response between people aged 15-50 shouldn’t be any sort of issue, a text response takes seconds. The only feasible excuse is you’re avoiding or wish not to indulge a person, in which case that’s obviously fine and normal. But when the cause is just laziness, come on. There are few things that irritate me more than poor excuses when you call them out on it, or the forever classically used… “Oh I didn’t get the email…” “I didn’t get the Facebook message…”

This is the 21st century, own up to your communication responsibilities or cut that colleague/friend/business tie out of your life.

Health Issues To Consider

Men’s Health wrote a paragraph in an article about Ryan Kwanten, the guy that plays Jason Stackhouse on the HBO Show “True Blood” which stood out to me. It stated

“Every man should approach fitness this way, especially as he segues from his 20s to his 30s and then into his 40s. Shape up once and stay there. It’s so much easier than stopping and starting ad nauseam. With each passing year you become further removed from the high school stud who can eat all summer at Del Taco and then burn it off during Hell Week. The after-30 version of that ritual—developing a gut and then training for a marathon with your buddies—is hardly a prescription for long-term health and fitness.”

There was quite a weight to this whilst reading as seeing as I’m nearly 30, I need to get back and into prime shape. I want the option to drink, eat and be merry without it feeling like it’s posing a consistent risk.
